At first glance, standards may seem to sound dry — until you see how they are implemented in a real cloud. The Sovereign Cloud Stack (SCS) is a European initiative that creates an open, transparent and vendor-neutral cloud ecosystem that guarantees sovereignty and interoperability. Certifiable standards are a central component of the SCS and serve as the foundation for the SCS certification.
In this workshop, Marvin and Freerk-Ole will first delve into the technical aspects of the SCS standards for IaaS and KaaS, explaining how these standards are developed — from community discussions to the final adopted standard. Then they will get down to business: Using the ScaleUp Open Cloud as an example, they will demonstrate how IaaS and KaaS standards are actually integrated into a production environment. Together, we will explore how the standards apply to your specific needs and how you can implement them technically.
The workshop is intended for anyone who wants to understand what the term “sovereign cloud” really means from a technical perspective — presented in a concise, practical way, with plenty of time for questions.
Target audience: operators as well as customers of cloud infrastructure
