Freerk is responsible for the ScaleUp Open Cloud offering, consisting of IaaS and Kubernetes, as well as custom managed services. He has many years of experience with sovereign technologies such as OpenStack, Ceph and Gardener.
The ability for customers to self-provision cloud resources is changing the way providers bill them. Instead of signing a fixed monthly contract, customers expect to pay for what they actually use, typically on an hourly basis. This session will cover the details of cloud metering using open-source software and explain how raw usage data can be used to create customer invoices.
