Dr. med. Lars Riedemann is a Neurologist and Scientist, trained in Clinical Neurology and Biomedical Engineering at the University Hospital Heidelberg, Harvard Medical School, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also an AI Engineer, Medical Community Builder, and Innovation Architect working at the Intersection of Healthcare, Artificial Intelligence, and Immersive Technologies
The current cloud-based, proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) system introduce privacy and security
risks as well as significant additional costs that impede clinical integration, in particular in resource
limited environments. Here we present REMEDY, an open medical compound AI system that
facilitates efficient, multi-modal AI on a single air-gabbed consumer-level compute device. By eliminating
external data egress, REMEDY accelerates administrative processes and ensures human guided, auditable
healthcare workflows while preserving data and hardware sovereignty. Its architecture offers a scalable,
low-cost and energy efficient blueprint for transparent, decentralized medical AI infrastructure tailored
for the demands of routine clinical care.
